LED lights put out a lot less heat than conventional lighting so it might be necessary to provide heat of some kind. In lower temperatures, plants tend to bloom less and usually grow slower. Maintaining the proper temperature will result in a more productive garden.

A dark period may be required for some plants every twenty four hours to stimulate blooming or fruiting late season. This can sometimes stress a fruiting plant which usually equals more flowering.
If you look into a professional type LED grow light, you might notice that one or more of the LED’s in each cluster looks like its not lit. Don’t worry, this is perfectly normal. Humans can only see a limited range of wavelengths and professional LED lights emit a wide range of these wavelengths. Most plants prefer the wavelengths that humans can’t see. This is why plants look green to us. They are reflecting wavelengths of white light while absorbing all of the other light wavelengths.
